Showing an abusive man in a movie doesn't say "all men are awful" any more than showing a hooker says "all women are whores."

I really liked the way the two male leads were contrasted. Jessica Biel's boyfriend wasn't some simpering milquetoast or "perfect man" - he was a flawed, normal guy.

The ladies weren't exactly paragons of virtue - Shiva was a sex worker who was probably also a grifter, while May tossed aside her entire life and the people who cared about her over some imagined ideal of a newfound biological sister.

On the other hand, guy who looks at a well-written nuanced movie and only gets out of it "men are awful" may be projecting...

Do you go around and comment on all movies that depict men as bad? Seems like this isn't your first time *beep* The story involves a pimp forcing a girl to have sex, and you want to defend that?
