Although it's noble he is trying to provide clean water worldwide but doesn't this just encourage population growth? Which just creates a new problem to deal with, until inevitably there is no water at all.
I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just surprised the documentary didn't at least tackle the cause and effect of his invention.
Small village with a little filtration system, or large city with a large filtration system. It's all the same thing. We are all in the same boat. As long as we have our bread and water, just keep the system rolling. I hope we make it.

Families have many children because they know that some won't make it and, after all, kids in the third world ARE their parents pensions.
If infant mortality reduces as a result of providing clean water then those families will start to have smaller families.
If we ever achieve a situation where life in the third world is safer, healthier, and more comfortable then the global population would actually start to shrink, as it is in places like Europe.
