Why is nobody talking about this?

I had a quick glance at the message board for the American "Hostages" and there seemed to be a lot of complaining. I haven't seen it so can't comment. What I would say is that if you don't like that one then watch this, Israeli version. It's totally gripping and very well acted. I have no idea which came first. I do know he Americans have a reputation for doing their own versions of programs from other countries, but maybe this time it was different. Whatever the case, give this a go - it thrilling!

The Israeli version came first (hint, one doesn't ask humans (or avatars) question of fact anymore, just Google it). It is quite good so far, I'm sure the source made it pretty obscure, until it showed up on BBC. I never saw the original anywhere, much less subtitles, it's not even listed on Addicted.

I have just watched the final episodes of this gripping TV series (the Israeli one, not American one). Acting is brilliant, cannot agree more and it really keeps you wanting to know what happens next. In hindsight, there are a lot of questions coming to mind now that I have seen the finale. Might have to watch it again...

Ive just watched the last episode. I was gripped from that start. I dont normally watch subtitled programmes but I read a review about in the the Radio Times, so thought I would give it a go. I cant believe it didnt get more attention.

Absolutely gripping . Watched them all back to back . However IVE just watched 10 and I'm in a quandary neither understanding it or if I think what happened ( can't say as spoiler alert ) happened I don't know how she knew the woman in the film was related to you know who ? How can I get these answered without spooning it for the rest of you who are on episode 8 .

reply

Start a new thread on episode 10, flag spoilers in the subject title and use the spoiler facility that blanks out your text unless clicked on - that way we can discuss! I'm slightly confused by ep 10 ending as well!

She knew that she was related because she found this out when she checked his medical records and when she went to his house she saw something about it there

******SPOILERS ************** SPOILERS *******************SPOLIERS****************

See, I didn't take it like The good Dr. knew about the relation... I took it as she put two and two together with the limp (it's a stretch) and realized that the PM was a bad man/rapist who maybe deserved to lose his life so that Adam's wife might possibly live.
Out of the whole hostage taking situation, she bonded with Adam and realized that like herself, Adam was willing to do whatever it took to protect her family.

My question is, what was Adam doing with that harddrive... one would assume that at some point he saw it and found his reason to fight, whatever, etc... BUT, why would he keep it with him?? To remind himself the reason for the mission?? - I know he rescued it from the shipping container before he torched it, BUT, why would he have it in there in the first place??! Instead of safe in a safe of a safety deposit box or something??

Is he going to use it to blackmail the PM to go through with the bone marrow operation?
Do they need to kill the PM to do the transplant?? Is it just a long way around to that??
Like, he's going to show his wife her conception so she'll be ok with him (the PM) having to die??

I have no complaints about this show as a whole though, I *beep* love it!
Just a few little things that I can't help thinking about because I tunnel through a story way too much.

If life gives you MELONS, then you probably have DYSLEXIA.

I'm replying to a post that's more than two years old.

If you loved Bnei Aruba (2013), try to get a subtitled version of Hatufim (2009-2012), another Israeli hostage thriller. Superbly acted! Hatufim translates to Prisoners of War.
