How many people watched this?

I thought it was brilliant, an incredible event for a good cause. The music was epic; and to quote Jager 'gotta be the largest collection of old English musicians ever assembled.'
The next day I asked around for who else watched it; to discover that practically no one knew about it, let alone saw it.
To be fair I live in the UK, I only discovered it when a friend of mine text me at around 1am if I was watching 12-12-12. I was in bed almost asleep and had no idea what he meant. Luckily hes a guy who only rarely texts me, but when he does its of important interesting things. I grabbed my laptop and searched it and found some stream.
What an incredible piece of organisation; from the mythical line up to the big name call centre and comedians. As a massive music lover I thought it was awesome and sacrificed my nights sleep for it. I was amazed when I discovered that not many people really watched it. I was in Britain at the time but the following months I travelled around working internationally. I met many Americans and if we happened to go for a drink and happened to mention music I might mention if they saw that gig as it was awesome. In 5 months I met 1 guy who saw it, some place beginning with C, North something?
Interestingly though I don't really remember much of hurricane Sandie on the news, it was no Katrina.

I didn't watch it, either. I'm sorry, but it was not the biggest disaster of all time, so I don't get why they're creating a movie from a concert that raised money for the relief. I think it's great that they had a TV concert for it, but like you said, not that many people watched it. I don't know one person who watched it.

So... I think this is just weird. Also, nothing against New York, but if this level of disaster had happened, say, in the Midwest due to a massive series of tornadoes, a concert like this would not have been created to help out. But b/c this happened to New York, this level of exposure was given to it. Hello, New York and California are NOT the only states in the US, despite what the media would have us believe. If the Midwest dropped off of the earth, the coasts would starve. Or, they would go bankrupt from importing all of their food from other countries.

Maybe Hurricane Sandy was not the biggest disaster of all time, but with 286 lives lost and 68 billion in damages, I'd say it was "bad enough".

Perhaps no one you know watched the concert, but a TV audience comprised of two billion people you don't know cared enough to tune in :-/
