Josh (football dad)

There is no shortage of problems with this guy but I think what bothered me most is how he talked about his son's mother in front of his son. You don't talk trash about your ex in front of your kids. This guy just sucks.

Don't we feel like the deaf deserve better movies?

Yup - no good words to describe that dude...

The scene where he went off on his kid with his mom up front tells it all. This guy has serous issues with what defines a man, what respect is, etc...etc...etc...and this guy will be blown away when his kid hates him and never sees him even upon his death bed. There's such a thing as default respect due to the parent\kid relationship and then there's respect that is earned on all sides - including parents. Clearly this "father" failed to glean any of that in what must be a miserable life...

Definitely...that guy has some serious issues in the head. He got so offended and acted like his manhood was challenged when his teenage son said he didn't want to talk about his girlfriend (wow a teenage boy not wanting to talk about his love life, how shocking) that he proceeded to berate his son until he cried.

This was probably the toughest scene to watch in the documentary. It wasn't even his father living vicariously through his son, it was a grown man berating his son to prove his "manhood" and status as the "dominant" one in the family. Absolutely pathetic and sad.

The father also seemed to have some misogynistic issues.
