The movie is so interesting.
It is so nice how the director show the story part by part and how the audience "make" the plot step by step.

But I don´t like so much the ending.
It is really incredible how he is considered guilty when there are a lot of thing that he (or his advocate) never said.

Yes he is guilty about the hindden affaire, but no about murder.

My point of view:

1 - If he want to kill his wife, this is the WORST WAY POSSIBLE, because he would be immediately considered suspect. With poisson is possible, but not with the jam pharmacy..!! This is ridiculous I.

2 - Carrying the poisson an leave in his home, he can kill his daughter or some friend or anybody in this moment in the house. Ridiculous II. Why he take the risk to kill his daugther.

3 - Why he need kill his wife ?? Is not enough getting divorse ?

4 - Plot hole. Why at the begining he denies the post mail notes ? This is logic when he receive the notes destroy their, but when he is arrested the note prove: a) She is completelly crazy. b) They have no contact in this moment. If they are planing the murder, why she send the post mail notes ??. For me the notes prove that he are not planing the murder.

5 - Why nobody suspect about the mother ? The mother can´t kill she, but the mother can handle the jam exaclty in the same way like she and he. Also the mother are fighting with she about the pharmacy with she. In this way the mother take revenge whith she and he because they deceive her son. The mother is for place and reason high suspect like she and he.

6 - Another plot hole. Why so problem whith the stop in the factory ? If he want to put poisson in jam, the factory is the worst place to do this, because everybody know him. The logic place is in far and alone road.

7 - Why he (or his advocate) never said nothing about this points ? In fact the advocate never said NOTHING..!!.

8 - Director trick. There are 2 scenes where the director induce the audience about the wife´s murder. First in the water game (how he want kill his wife in front of everybody ?) and the ladder scene (if he want, it would have been easier to push the ladder)

The movie is fine, very interesting but IMO fail in the end.

Or he is a completelly crazy man (but the director never show this) or he is so stupid that can´t defends himself in a situation where clearly he is inocence.

Maybe the jury think how he cheat his wife he is a bad person and he need pay for this.
I don´t know so about France, but life imprisonment for an affair is not so logical.
