National Polls

I'm very curious about the National Polls...I live in Florida and have a Condo in Pittsburgh and many family and friends in each state...in my 67 years I don't know anyone that has participated in a POLL...could you please tell me how polls work...enjoy your show...watch it daily when I can and appreciate how you have handled difficult situations with a "smile" and positive attitude....
