So proud of Empires stars for winning 3 major NAACP awards last night.
Taraji Henson: 1) Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series (Empire)
2) Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture (Hidden Figures)
Jussie Smollett:1) Outstanding supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Empire)
Jussie's character (Jamal)was well-written this season so far IMO, and the material he was given really had substance. Some didn't like the fact that he had to deal with PTSD and addiction issues because they thought it was too dark but I honestly felt it was very good material and a good direction to take the character. Last season, the complaint was he just sang too much so the writers had to figure out a good storyline for him this season and I felt that they delivered.
I also enjoyed Cookie this season way more than I did in S2. Also her movie Hidden Figures is doing extremely well and her performance was riveting. She is really flying high right now. Good for her.
