Seems every movie that has come out in the past year and a half has been a disappointment at the box office.

And a few months ago you had "Demon Slayer Mugen Train", released in the middle of the pandemic, which is the #4 highest grossing 2D animation in history, in very close competition with #3 and #2. By a hair, it almost reached the second position behind Lion King.
