Things are not looking good.
I hate to say it guys but I think we may not get a season 2. It is looking so grim seeing as to how they have not said a word yet and that usually means it is going to get canned. I feel really bad this had so much potential and hip-hop NEEEDS something like this. There are so many talented GLBT rappers out there who don't get recognized due to just that. Chozen could have introduced this to a lot of people and got the hip-hop community talking.
To all the people saying "oh it's not because he's gay it is just too way over the top and crude." However look at family guy. Quagmire is constantly making crude sexual jokes and treating women as objects and he gets the most laughs when he's on screen. People buy shirts with him on it. The audience that is watching FX at this hour. I remember when I went to see Bruno. I don;t think many of the kids in the theatre knew it was about a gay character. Pretty much they all left within 20 minutes, one guy even ran out, I kid you not RAN. People don't wanna see an outrageously sexual gay character, at least not now. It is getting better however. I think Chozen was ahead of it's time if it would have came out in like 8 years or so I think it would be a hit.
That being said I think it was an excellent treat for the GLBT community to have this little gem showing we still don;t give a *beep* what people think. I remember when I saw the preview for itI was so happy. Being openly gay dn been trying all my life to find work in the hip-hop community where homophobia thrives I felt like it was made just for me. I still have my Swag pack however The hat, du rag, and poster are all on display in my room.. I use the beer cozy every night to always remind me of what this show meant to me.
