This may be the worst film I've ever seen!

Its sure starts out good.
But I kept waiting for the story....?

We keep seeing long stretches of no plot development.

No one's motives are explained! This story literally goes nowhere.
I wish I had the 2 hours of my life back.

The main actor does very well, but otherwise..? Why was the nephew such a weirdo?

I see positive reviews for the film & the story.

I couldn't have missed the plot, since there was none!

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

Your opinion. I enjoyed it and how was he a weirdo? He was just a little awkward.

reply

True, it is my opinion.

I would have liked this story a lot if they'd actually provided....a story.

I have no idea why the rating for this movie is so high.

This "might" be the "worst" move you've ever seen? You've been a IMDb member for 10 years and this is the worst movie? c'mon, take yourself seriously for a bit. Saying "this is the worst movie ever" doesn't really have any meaning on IMDb, as it is trown around on pretty much every board.

It's certainly not the best movie I've seen, but I've seen A LOT worse..

I liked how it was different from all the Hollywood blockbuster romantic thrillers/ crime or whatever you wanna call it. And it was refreshing to see a different surrounding that's not NYC or LA. I might be a bit biased because I've lived in WI for a bit and loved to go to Gibraltar Rock (the spot where John's wife died), but still. This movie was not an open book, I think that's what most people dislike about it.

*beep* off. You don't need to be spoon fed, assuming you're an adult.

This movie delivered in a subtle but good way. I liked it. I only wish that the guy who plays the Sheriff in Son of Anarchy could have played John.

Overall, 7/10.

I totally agree. I kept waiting for the plot to be driven forward, but it never happened. The nephew honestly didn't even need to be in the movie imo, but then the movie would have lasted about 20 minutes.

And there is nothing to be "spoonfed" here either. There is nothing to tell. The movie simply started and ended with no resolution or outcome whatsoever. It literally ends the same way it starts.

Obviously I read the synopsis prior to starting the movie. It's not like it lied, but the synopsis literally says the whole story. Nothing else happens. I thought by the end of it SOMEONE would have realized the uncle was a murderer. The nephew at least! And even if he didn't get caught by police, at least the nephew could've found out and realized his uncle wasn't as great as he always thought. Or he could have been in on it. I don't know, SOMETHING...

The movie just didn't end the way I thought it should have ultimately. I thought there wasn't any sort of resolution or difference in outcome versus the beginning, so it felt like a waste of time. Just my opinion!

I kind of agree with you, diamond crusher. It needed a better ending. I thought the plot was good, the acting was great, and i didnt mind the slow pace too much. I didnt have an questions at the end. It was obvious what happened. Its disappointing that the uncle was never found out by anyone though, anybody, just to make it more interesting. I dont get too much into the reasons film makers do certain things, but maybe the point of this film was for it to be like a glimpse into another life thats completely based in reality. Thats what it felt like to me at least. It was interesting and i dont regret watching it, but there was no pay off. I dont feel like i just watched a movie. Its more like staring out of a window for a couple of hours.
