Great performance from John Ashton

Uncle John is a well-crafted debut feature, with a career defining performance from John Ashton. http://www.cutprintfilm.com/reviews/uncle-john/

John Ashton was good but the movie was awful. Not sure why I kept watching it. All the scenes with John were good but the rest were a waste of time.

I wasn't familiar with the name though vaguely recognized the face. Sure enough he played Marvin the nasty bounty hunter in Midnight Run (one of my all-time favorites.) Additionally saw another familiar face. The big blonde guy who was a diner regular was also in Fargo. Had a brief role as "Bucky" the irate customer at the dealership who didn't want trucoat on his car.

He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

I thought I recognized that face. Good old Marvin Dorfler. This guy should have been the lead actor in more films.

John Ashton was wonderful. I enjoyed his character Uncle John. He reminded me of that Henry David Thoreau quote "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.".

Uncle John's life seemed simple and uncomplicated but it was actually the opposite.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.
