Just remember trust is the most important thing Miranda looks for in a team mate and is the first thing she'll break when her neck is anywhere near the line. She's the perfect mcguffin for The Master's ability to manipulate the greedy and ignorantly ambitious.

Plus she could feed the weevils for years to come.
