Just what Hoosiers need...

Greeaat...

As a lifelong Indiana resident, it irritates me to see us portrayed this way. I don't claim that everything is great about this place, but come on, TV. Do you really have to oversimplify us in this way? There are plenty of good, dignified, educated people from and in this state. Does America really need the stereotype reinforced that Indiana is full of nothing but rednecks?

barscotch, I'm from western NY state and live in AZ now and anyone with half a brain knows that what we see on tv doesn't represent all of what lives in an area... (says someone who has been asked if we still had cowboys and Indians in AZ (*LOL*))! Seriously, people travel around nowadays enough to know that we are so alike across the states it's ridiculous - even going through the South I had to look for people with a deep southern drawl! They're there, yes, but we are so homogenized now that, you know, people are pretty much like you everywhere now. So don't worry, no one thinks everyone in Indiana is like one type anymore than they would think the people around them are one type. :)

I don't see this show as generally promoting the idea that Indianans are stupid.
