Surprised no one had mentioned it...

They changed the opening narration on last night's (11/6/14) "F is for Fight, Fight, Fight!" episode.

It used to be:

"Andrew and Zelda will date for eight months, three weeks, five days and one hour. This program is a comprehensive account of their relationship - from "A to Z."

Now it's:

"...seven months, one week, four days, and three hours..."

Wonder what that's all about.

Yeah, it was a cute little show.

Is it a countdown?

They did have their monthaversary ;)

Perhaps the season finale was supposed to begin "A and Z will date for one hour" and then they marry or she dies in a fifteen second montage.

reply

To the best of my recollection, each of the previous episodes had the exact same "eight months..." narration.

I mean maybe they're counting down now because of the cancelation, but I'm pretty sure they weren't before.

I did notice but I was too lazy to post it :-)
I liked Missxine's comment "or Zelda dies in a 15 second montage". Hilarious!

I just re-watched the opening credits for all the previous episodes...

You're absolutely right, it is a countdown. So much my recollection.

I wonder how they're gonna kill her this time.

Car accident?
Poison?
Lightning strike?
Flattened by a falling piano?
Decapitation?

Every episode has changed. Usually by about a week.

Good call. I hadn't noticed the subtle changes. I usually skip forward as soon as they say the month count.

But with that being the case, I have a problem with the wording in the narration.

It's basically this whole thing -

Q: "Which month has 28 days?"
A: "All of them."

But that doesn't mean they all have ONLY 28 days.

Even though they will date for seven months (you can't get to eight without first going through seven), they will not have dated for ONLY seven months. They will still have dated for that entire eight month+ time frame.

So instead of:

"Andrew and Zelda will date for seven months..."

The narration should be:

"Andrew and Zelda will date for ANOTHER seven months..."

I also noticed at the end of the lastest ep they didn't have the same narration.

It's a countdown, the wording is just a bit awkward. Was established in another topic a few weeks ago.
