Are thy portraying the Larsons like a caricature of the Clintons? A politically ambitious power couple who work together to get to the top, who love eachother but are aware of eachothers dalliances?

I think it's a parody of the Underwoods in House of Cards, right down to the "what about my appointment" part.

I second what you said. They seem like the Underwoods, accept neither share partners together -yet.
