Homage to Twin Peaks

This show is like a hilarious flipped version of Twin Peaks. The FBI agent even looks like Cooper, but instead of being awkward smart he's incredibly photogenic and popular smart.

I've noticed at least three obvious clues: the rural town setting, the FBI and local cop duo, the emphasis on dessert consumption. Substitute donuts with carrot cake.

Also I found the lead character to be very likable. He looks like Merle from TWD but acts like Harvey from Gotham. All in all a very promising pilot, slick editing and decent pacing.

Yeah, that's in there too, but it's also a lot like this show--

There's not going to be any regular kind of creepy paranormal aspect to this show. And there was no real conflict between Agent Cooper and the local law enforcement guys he worked with. But I agree, it does come across a bit like Twin Peaks at points, although it's a lot more of a regular formulaic episodic procedural, which TP never was.

And btw--a town of over 50,000 people--third largest city in Michigan--two of the world's largest cereal companies headquartered there--not rural. Just saying. 
