Don't care how unrealistic

I'm watching this for scan, Kylie, Ben, and Nonso. Cannot wait to see this. Perhaps I should be offended by the unrealism but I'm not, I just want to be entertained. Hope it turns out really well!

reply

And just what is unrealistic about it?

reply

The whole thing!!!!

Tut was not healthy and capable of running around in a battle, etc.

His skeleton has been examined and he had scolosis, a club foot and osteonecrosis of his left foot. He also had buck teeth and a partially cleft palate.

He needed help to get around and used a cane--over 100 canes were buried with him.

He was a frail young man who died at age 19 and they found evidence he had malaria.

They have a 20 something playing TUT and he is running around like Batman.

Then they have the colors/race of the people wrong and reversed: The Mitanni were a semitic light skinned people but they show them as Blacks with beards and the Egyptians were a dark skinned African people but they are showing half white half Indian people as the Egyptians.

I know this is not a documentary but whoever made this did not even pick up any book or talk to any historian about Tut.

reply

Not only that, but wasn't he supposed to have seriously broken his leg? He's not limping or using a cane or anything.

reply

He didn't use a cane in the show but he is noticeably limping at least.

reply

Well, just about everything but the point is, its TV. Just watch it and enjoy it. Right? It's not the History Channel or a documentary.

reply

Have you watched the History Channel lately? If anything this wouldn't be shown because its too accurate...

reply

Good! You have it right. Just watch and you will like it!

reply

It's completely UNhistorical but very enjoyable.

I never care if a tv show gets the actual history right (it's TV, after all), but I DO appreciate it when the costumes and sets have been well-researched and reproduced.

HBO's Rome did this very well, too, although the history was a bit dodgy at times.

reply

Oh yes, very enjoyable. I'd be rolling on the floor watching the whole nonsense of the action but this is such a waste of potential, that I'd rather cry. I wouldn't even mention Rome next to this;)
