This sort of movie has been done heaps of times before. Is Travolta running out of good roles or have studios stopped offering them to him?

hey, say what you will about battlefield earth, but i saw it when it came out and i actually enjoyed it. yeah sure, the story line was absolutely outrageous with zero grounding in the realm of reality and was more cheesy than a pot of kraft dinner after melting a 10 pound block of cheddar into it. well yeah it's not shakespear, i wont argue that, but it was good for what it was. it was an enjoyable 2 hours of time well wasted. it didn't deserve the amount of hate it got. in the last 10 years ive seen movies more than a thousand times worse than battlefield earth ever was.
perhaps someone can explain to me how the sequel to battlefield earth could be axed on the premise that it was a bad movie and yet today we have an entire sharknado franchise.....like WTF really? or for that matter how the movie side of syfy isn't completely bankrupt considering the magnitude of schlock and absolute trash, that is every single one of their movies.
battlefield earth in my book was an enjoyable b movie. perhaps even a c movie if your feeling unkind. syfy movies on the other hand....well there just isn't enough letters in the alphabet to rate that garbage. to call them z movies is an unfair insult to z movies. go watch nazis at the center of the earth, snakehead terror, ss doomtrooper, sharktopus, or any other syfy movie for that matter. then come back and tell me about how bad battlefield earth really was.
unless your a glutton for both punishment and cruel and unusual torture, id suggest watching only 1 or 2 of them at most for a baseline comparison. however if that's the case well... then knock yourself out and enjoy the cringe binge i guess.
