This film is very similar to the kevin bacon film Death Sentence. I believe James Wan made that movie as well. Glad to see Travolta back in a film.

shareThe original Death Sentence was a sequel to a book/movie called Death Wish. The book by Brian Garfield came out in 1972, and is a masterpiece of noir fiction. His book Death Sentence had a much different plot than the 2007 movie by James Wan (although Garfield was credited). The book was about the same character as Death Wish, Paul Benjamin. It was released in 1975. The movie Death Wish II is actually much closer to Garfield's sequel.
Garfield is still a great read if you like that kind of fiction. And he's still very much with us, although he hasn't published much since the 80's.
Death Sentence is a better and darker film than I Am Wrath, but IAW is a great film too
