They Always Taste Bobby's Food First

"Blind taste test?" I DVR'd a bunch of episodes and noticed that Bobby's food is ALWAYS first. I know it's not the same 3 guest judges, but if any of them have seen this show before, then it's pretty obvious

reply

^ Yeah it's fixed unless Bobby goes against Asian cuisine because they know he struggles with it.

Bobby's food is ALWAYS first
Yeah, not really.

Tonight I watched back to back re-air episodes "By Land or By Sea" and "Surf and Turf"; both originally aired this past winter. In the first episode Bobby's Fish N Chips went first; in the second episode, Bobby's sandwich went second.

He won both.

In the third episode I watched tonight "Welcome to New York", Bobby's shrimp n grits went second and..............he won.

Only three episodes so it's a very small sample but your theory (conspiracy) doesn't seem to hold water.

Final episode tonight - tacos

Bobby's dish went first - he LOST

This episode was kind of ridiculous actually. A very talented Korean chef serves bulgogi and kimchi tacos. The guest judges obviously know which dish was created by Flay so comparing the tacos was certainly biased.

Re-air episode: Steak and Eggs

Bobby's dish went second - he LOST

The guest chef did a beautiful presentation that was more Flay-like while Bobby's dish was somewhat pedestrian although quite delicious I'm certain.

went 2nd tonight w/ steak au poivre.

Pork Roulade

Bobby's dish went second - he won

The guest chef really tripped up with undercooked pork and bitter stuffing. Not really a contest.

Final episode tonight - Chicken Wings

Bobby's dish went second - he won

When they mention the heat in a dish I think they know it's Bobby

reply

That's what I say to myself, "blind taste test?" Are you kidding me? His signature is "heat" and "spice."

With very few exceptions, everything Flay cooks has a Southwestern spin, that's a dead giveaway. Plus, he'll stand there and grin or smirk at various things the judges say. It's not hard for them to figure out which dish is his.

I just watched him beat a traditional pirogi chef with a poorly stuffed, fairly tasteless lobster pirogi that barely held together and a little lobster sauce. His dish went second.

I wouldn't put any money on the show not being rigged or at the least, steered his direction.
