Close Call But I Made it Back

March 2015. A team of movie watchers fueled by their anticipation this could well be a good British war movie are dropped into enemy lines. The mission was to avoid all shill reviews if any, and to evaluate all others.

Nothing goes according to plan, commando Sergeant Harry McBain orders shills to fire 8, 9, and 10's at us, and then surround us with a barrage of utter nonsense.

I retreat behind enemy lines turn and see genuine reviewers waving and encouraging me to go and warn others before it's too late.

I make it back safely and although the mission didn't go according to plan I did find the answer I was looking for.

Inspired by true events, this tells the story of desperate film makers and their friends attempting to fleece the general public.

Enjoyably witty review although I can`t say I agree.A few dodgy accents notwithstanding, it`s a pretty good low-budget film with a decent storyline, good acting and an all out assault on the ears-some of the best surround-sound I`ve heard .Watch out for a brief cameo from Frank Laboeuf.

The reviews are so mixed and while the OP was pretty amusing and thing me to basically stay the hell away I think I'll give it a try on Netflix tonight anyway and get back on what I thought

THERES NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU !!!!

Seems like an honest attempt, but it just doesn't work! The story is to sparse the characters too shallow and it's all been done before and better. The uniforms, equipment etc seem to be close,if not perfect, but Waffen SS Soldiers even by this stage of the war could shoot straight, and were very unlikely to loose 20 To 1 encounters, even with 'Commando's'!The whole sub plot at the end with the rogue officer seemed to be a tacked on emergency exit to try to tie the threads of the film together, and again has one 50+ year old officer holding off a 'crack' Allied H.Q. Staff and armed with just an infamously crap pistol supposedly almost overturning all the allied plans single Handedly! No sorry yet another very poor attempt to resurrect a seriously scarce genre of late with only 'The Monuments Men' seeming to turn in something new.

It was a good try for a small production budget. The premise was hopelessly flawed, dragged the movie down to a 4. But the French girl's nudity raised it back up to a 5.
