I know this documentary is about the making of The Wind Rises and The Tale of The Princess Kaguya, and I haven't seen either one. Do I need to see either beforehand in order to enjoy this documentary, or to avoid spoilers? I've seen one Studio Ghibli film so far (My Neighbor Totoro).
shareWell, I saw the documentary so I can answer my own question now. They did briefly discuss what's happening at the end of The Wind Rises, but not in enough length or detail to really ruin anything, especially since I didn't know what happens during the rest of the movie. While I could still absorb the documentary for what it was, I feel like I would've appreciated it more if I had actually seen The Wind Rises beforehand.
shareI agree. Probably best to see A Wind Rises before you watch the documentary. Especially the bonus features. I think I need to purchase this to add to my slowly growing Ghibli collection.
