Louis CKs acting?

What did you think of it?

reply

I actually came on here to see whether anybody answered that question.

In my opinion, he was in way over his head. He couldn't even make me believe he was a smoker. In all fairness though, it's difficult for a lot of actors to look good next to Cranston.

I like Louis C.K., but he was terribly miscast.

reply

He is a wonderful comedian, but not a great actor. I thought he was miscast too.

I think he was great and i don't even follow him at all in his comedy shows/style etc

reply

It pains me to say that while I think C.K. is one of the best comedian of his generation, his acting simply sucks...

reply

I wouldn't say he sucks!
He was simply neither great, nor bad.
In the scenes that I was supposed to feel something for him I felt pretty much...meh.

reply

As soon as he popped up on the screen all I could think was 'it's Louis C.K.!' I don't know if his acting as a problem or not. His casting was probably the issue here as it was entirely unexpected. I thought he was fine in American Hustle, so I doubt it was the acting so much.

Life! Don't talk to me about life.

reply

Most of the problem with Louis C.K. in Trumbo is that he was surrounded by top tier actors who actually knew their craft, and that only highlighted how amateur he is.

They should have cast someone else, I'm really unsure as to why they thought he'd make a good fit here.

reply

He was distracting. All of the other actors did a decent to great job of believably becoming the characters they were playing. But Louis CK was just Louis CK. He delivered his dialogue in exactly the same way he delivers his stand up.

reply

I actually feel like he has a lot more passion in his standup.

reply
