Spoiler Alert! Did anyone else get the impression that the Luiz Guzman cop character was going to rob the couple of their money and possibly kill them before Cusack inadvertently intervened when he shot the cop? Or was it just me?

I thought he was working with Cusack and when they told he was dead he went to take it all for himself!
But it didn't make sense when John killed him, so maybe he just saw the money and got greedy.
I did think that, too, but it would've been okay with me 'cause I love Guzman.
Dear John Cusack, you kill Luis Guzman, you kill me. I'm coming for you.

Yeah!! He worried me the whole time pretty much. Especially near the end, when he told the female cop to go take care of things and asked about the money, and said "That's a lot of cash." I was like oh great, here we go now this a**hole is going to make his move lol. It was a cool twist that Ben came back and killed him instead. Less predictable!

How'd he know the name "Benjamin"? Not sure if he was linked to the missing girl before the couple went to the police, but I'm sure he wasn't mentioned.
He must have known from the bar-fight who Benjamin was.
And when the husband phoned from the taxi, he said "Nina's there. Benjamin kidnapped us."
tonynworah I felt he might do that too but that would have made this story go on much longer and it already was too long. Whoever was responsible for casting Luiz Guzman in this role hit the nail right on the head. We didn't know for sure if he was a good cop or bad cop. Honestly this performance here is one of the better acting jobs I have seen him do.
