Good movie, but I had to watch it twice

The editor mis-spliced all the chunks, and the movie is horribly out of chronological order. Character development? Fine... if you can re-arrange your memory... iow, the Memento gag is getting old...

True. I replayed the beginning of the movie 3 times after watching it. Names and characters are difficult to distinguish. Young Julia looks like Clarence. "Dear Catharina" happens to be the sister. We never see Carmen. Or the Spanish wife of Kalyan. The flashbacks make it difficult yes.

I didn't find it to be quite like Memento, but it also took me two viewings for some things to make sense.

I haven't read the book, but I guess the author wanted to set it against a historical backdrop and it got messy from there. Bisila's children should have both been in their 30s, and I think Clarence and Daniela should have been too.

Kilian's leaving and returning multiple times didn't help either.
