SPOILER - I was rooting for the invaders to win

even before I found out they were human.

This movie really sucked. It tried to be high concept, but it was really pretty dumb. The main characters are bland and unrelatable before you find out they're robots. It's also really predictable. I assumed at the outset that the twist was that the invaders would be human rather than alien, I just didn't know what the main characters were going to be. Overall this is forgettable.

Nah i was rooting for the family, even after we find out what really is going on.

So you were able to relate to 4 really irritating robots...I'm happy for you.

For some reason, I was as well. Almost subliminally I knew about the 'twist' and didn't really give an iota for the cardboard family of four, complete with nagging wife.

Of course you and i were,i mean fucking machines stripped us out of our world?! Fuck that!!, i really hope this piece of trash doesn't get a part two bc there's no way they're gonna make the humans win...

You could philosophize all day about whether the synths are alive or not, but at the end of the day, they were being wiped out, didn't want to die and chose to fight back. Can't really fault them for that.

Plus the world is pretty damn big, so chances are you could easily adopt a live and let live policy and never see each other. But something tells me the humans chose an uncompromising position of kill all robots, lost the war they started, and got driven off the planet as a result.

Hard to root for humanity in that scenario.

I know this is an old post but I just got to say, no you could not philosophize all day about them being alive. They're machines and machines will never be alive. End of story. I get so tired of science fiction telling us that "machines are people too" and that we should cheer for our own destruction.
