A bit cheesy but heartwarming; Not preachy at all

Saw this today on Amazon Prime. It has a bit of a cheesy Hallmark/Lifetime vibe but I enjoyed this film.

I'm Agnostic and I didn't find the film to be preachy or overtly religious. There are some scenes in Church and references to God and the Bible but that's it.

The protagonist is also non religious and prays for the first time during the film. It's done sincerely and you don't actually see him praying.

Overall, I liked it but WTF is it with the twist ending, am I right? What a switcheroo.
