Is this a "religious" film?

I just started watching this, 14 and a half minutes in, and it feels very "preachy". Can someone tell me, is this a Christian film, before I watch any further?

reply

Turns out it's an awfully preachy Christian film just like you said. Such a good film premise absolutely demolished. So sad.

I feel lied to by the imdb reviewer, the movie is complete opposite of what he made me want to watch.

reply

As a person that really hates anything to do with religion,I didn't find this preachy in the slightest. There are Christian overtones yes,but the ultimate storyline in the film did not feel like one urging the watcher to become a Christian(the main character rejects the notion of Christianity) It's about forming relationships and not letting negativity control your life.

reply

No it's not, one of the leads is religious but that doesn't make it a religious movie, didn't feel preachy at all to me and I've seen a bunch of Christian films so I know the type you're refering to... This is NOT that type

You gave yourself a name. I gave mine up.

reply

It is. Just look at the official site. It has a page for Church licenses which is a common practice with Christian films.

That being said, this is one of the better Christian films I've seen, and I'd say it's worth a watch even if you are not religious.

I agree with those who say the religious/faith message is much, much more subtle and tasteful than you typically see from this genre. And it's an organic part of the story rather than sermon disguised as a movie.

it's a religious movie but not as preachy as other religious movies out there.

I'm a devout Pagan and I saw nothing at all to offend me. It's a HEARTFELT film more than anything else. I rated it a solid ten because I loved it so much, and set my DVR up to record it again!

Darlin', don't ever take a Southern woman for granted!

reply

YES.

Unequivocally, YES.

From the no-cursing to the very, very, very heavy use of "Christian Rock" music used throughout the entire film - this is 100% hands-down very much a Christian film.

If you're old, or looking for something terribly schmaltzy and generic to watch - this is for you. It's so heavy-handed it's not even funny.

The soundtrack is mostly secular artists, dude.

Please stop.

Why do you insist on being so derogatory in your comments here? Guessing you weren't forced to watch this movie but ya had to jump on IMDB to demean anyone who is likely a Christian in your mind. Grow up and respect others and their right to believe in a God/religion if they want to or not. I respect those who don't but I don't feel the need to demean those who believe differently than I. It'd make the world a lot less rude and angry place if everyone paid respect to other people's views. It's totally unnecessary. I'm sorry that you felt the need to degrade the Christian faith movie genre because you feel you're somehow superior.

reply

Yes and it's a corny bad movie anyways so don't even bother
