missing information

We see and hear about the German Imperial Army, but what about the German States forces or the Austro-Hungarians or the Italians or the Russians. What about the Ottoman empire or the Spaniards or the Swiss?

From what I could gather, the Austro Hungarians were able to at least hold their own for some time seeing that they were able to send pilots to Britain.

When the Heron was coming up the Thames I was half expecting the HMS Thunder Child to attack it and the ram it and then be destroyed in the collision.
