when Tony Jaa want Kit to speak to the phone in cantonese, Kit should have seen that the number on the phone is his isnt it?

The biggest plot hole is Hung sending a bunch of low level henchmen (including Kit, who to them can't have been more than a desperate ketamine junkie) to conduct a kidnapping in a crowded friggin ferry terminal after having warned his brother about his intentions at dinner the night before (thus giving him time to hire some bodyguards). He employed a guy who took out a whole bunch of armed cops with nothing more than a folding knife.. why not take his brother at dinner using knife-guy? Or on the way home? Or at home? Surely he did not expect his brother's reaction to be, 'oh yeah take my heart bro just let me finish this meal first??'

It didn't happen that way so the script would contain the ferry terminal shootout of course (not to mention the whole rest of the film). And so it is with the phone call. If Tony Jaa had realised it was Kit he was trying to call right there he would have helped him phone Hong Kong on the spot and Kit would not have a reason to start a prison riot.

It's a common problem with these modern day martial arts films imo. Look the two Raid movies. Too many convoluted plot devices in order to give the characters an excuse to engage in otherwise beautifully choreographed fight scenes, fight scenes where both the bad guys and the good guys, who in all other scenes have ample access to firearms and demonstrate ample proficiency and willingness to use them, simultaneously decide shooting is too easy, better make it more fun by beating each other and getting beaten up.

SPL2 is rife with scenes where the two protagonist disarm and disable numerous armed baddies, yet even faced with the prospect of waves more baddies, fail to notice the loaded guns all around them.

These movies have got great choreographers and directors, but they really ought to pay their scriptwriters more.
