Just watching Episode 1, at 16:20 when Phil Glenister says to Liz White that when he woke up he didn't want to find John Major next to his bed, was that a nod to Life On Mars, the whole going back in time after a catastrophic event thing?

Surely no coincidence that they both starred in Life On Mars either...

Scratch that, I just remembered it was set in 1996, not the present day!

I am certain the back-street where Rob's club was situated featured in Life on Mars.
