This Breaking Bad remake is VERY entertaining

Most of the low ratings here are obviously from BB fans who did so solely on principle. And yes, it is exactly the same as BB but that in turn makes it very entertaining. It almost plays off like it's a YouTube parody of the show but it's played straight but just barely (it's like the actors and producers are winking at us through the camera). Some things generated great laughter while watching it. Columbian Walter Jr. is also on crutches (not that his disability is funny but the fact that literally everything about this show is identical to BB will have you burst out laughing at times). But it is certainly watchable and entertaining. I actually discovered more nuances/symbolism laced throughout BB while watching this show-- stuff that I didn't pick up upon my first viewing of particular BB episodes.

My whole life I've always wondered "what would so-and-so great film be like if it was filmed by another director" using the exact same script. Yes, they've done it with countless American remakes of foreign films, but they're almost always Americanized and the script gets altered. Here, the script is nearly identical so this is probably the closest I'm gonna get to realizing this desire.

For BB fans, it's definitely worth watching. It's streaming on Netflix.

Edit: I've only watched the first 2 episodes so the novelty may wear off, we'll see.
