Don't understand the Anti-prostitution Arguements

The main argument from the anti-prosecution side seems to be that johns and pimps are violent. Well, now that women can legally prostitute themselves, can't they now call the police on those monsters? What's the problem?

I assume brothels are well regulated, and someone can be called in if a girl is underage. So why are they worried about kids? Is there no random inspections? No undercover cops?

It seems to me that any issue that was involved in prostitution was because workers couldn't call the police without getting arrested themselves.

Another ridiculous argument seems to be that only blonde thin big breasted women can work at brothels... uhh... create your own brothel? If you can get hired on the street why can't you be hired in a brothel? The ones I've seen presented in places where it is legal shows a variety of women... sure, some are more in demand but native Americans are still desirable. That's just racist saying no one will want them now that brothels are legal... it also makes no sense. I know I don't want a blonde girl... not my type. I can't be the only one.

It just seems these ex sex workers hate most men because they weren't protected by the laws or society as a whole, and want men to suffer thinking any that would buy sex are total scum bags. I just don't believe that. I can understand that men that would use the black market to buy sex may be more prone to violence, but legalizes it will give women more choices. They can say no to scumbags and yes to lonely widowers and awkward fellows.
Sure, many, maybe even most men belittle women but not even half those men would rape or harm a child for pleasure. And if they do, throw their asses in jail.

I think one thing to remember when it comes to the argument that women are treated like objects is that if men could be liberated in a way, to have anal if they want, to engage in bisexual behavior if they want... they may also choose to be sex workers. Men are pressured... mostly by other men to *beep* as many women as possible and stay away from anything that could be seen a feminine behavior. That's a big problem, and it also harms women as the issue is feminine behavior being belittled, but men can be more fulfilled if they accepted feminine behavior too. It's a societal problem, and keeping prostitution illegal doesn't address it whatsoever.

and come on... sugar babies, trophy wives, and porn actors are prostitutes. The loop holes in being paid for sex are ridiculous. Everyone should have the right to sell their time. When a dancer is pressured to dance through toe pain...is that not selling her body? When a football player gives the best years of his life only to have serious bodily injuries, is that not selling his body? Let's be fair about what selling oneself really looks like. We all sell our time and our bodies. Isn't it just as demeaning (for many) working at McDonald's as working in a brothel? At least at a brothel you can earn money worth your time and you get to shower and sit down on the job!

Yeah, it was a poor showing. They do have logical reasons, but they can't say them, like "I'm a lesbian: it should be illegal for men to touch women" "I'm not very attractive: I'll never get a husband if it's easy and cheap for men to go to a prostitute" "I'm untalented and lazy: the government should provide everyone with as much money as they need" "I get paid to make arguments against prostitution: I make weak arguments against prostitution"
