Did They Subtly Diss Michael Pitt?

I might be totally off but hear me out.

It is rumored that Michael Pitt was killed off of Boardwalk Empire because of a falling out with the producers and because he was not easy to work with.

Terence Winter and Martin Scorsese were the executive producers of Boardwalk Empire and are the execs on Vinyl.

In episode three about 13 minutes in Richie is discussing bands to cut from his label and the band "Pagoda" comes up and Richie says "Sayonara."

Michael Pitt in real life has a band named Pagoda. Did the producers throw in a jab at Pitt?

Oddly enough when they cut to a close up of the list of bands they are discussing there's a band called "Hannibal" on the list. Another show Michael Pitt was cut from.

Looking back on that, it very well could be.haha

After 5 Years of Chuck, I have learned that at the end the nerd will ALWAYS get the girl. Chuck me.

I heard he showed up drunk on set. Too much coincidence for not being a diss.

If I don't reply, you're probably on my ignore list for something I forgot already

Interesting. The Pagoda part makes sense and could be a diss. But Hannibal was supposed to be an artist, not a band. He appeared on a few episodes and was a Sly Stone type (Sly and the Family Stone). Richie and the other record execs viewed him as a hot commodity and it was shown that he was very popular in the music world and had a lot of fans.

I don't know maybe you're just reaching? From the rumors, Pitt was supposed to last a couple of Seasons with Buscemi's character eventually to be revealed as his father. But substance abuse problems were supposedly the root of the problems with Pitt. If it's true, too bad because I like Pitt as an actor and loved Boardwalk Empire's first 2 seasons, it really went downhill after he died. Season 3 was only good because of Cannavale.

This makes me wonder if Terrance Winter is still mad at Michael Pitt for having to fire him. MOST people would agree that Pitt's departure did Boardwalk Empire no favors.

It makes me wonder too. BE was a great show with a lot of potential, they had great actors and the look was beautiful! But although I think Pitt is a very good actor, I do lend credence to the rumor and wonder if Winters was pissed as well as his show was destroyed because of it.
