Bad decision, HBO

Too bad they couldn't give this show another year to grow. Guess this is another reason I won't be tuning in to your channel.

Exactly!

Mommy and daddy's old rock music wakes him up when he's trying to sleep in his rent-free basement digs. Guys in their late 20s need their rest.

Yes, they need their energy to play with their Xbox.

I am 64 years old. I agree with fmproffit. You are the one Crying about votes not counting.
If fmproffit is a milinial and I am Not too fond of Milinials but they are customers of someone. They can vote to turn of HBO. That is what I will do. Did the same with Showtime. How Many shows were made by this group of folk??? Was it perfect. Not at all. But it brought back a lot of good memories and gave me some idea of what things were like in that industty in that part of the world at that time. Lots of good music. I think Jaggers kids group was supposed to be Sid Visious and the Sex Pistols. I used to listen to them as well.
Conway Twity was cool in that film within a film. I thought the part of Richi was great.
I could relate to it. Trying to bring a company back to life and doing so.
I saw some other post were some IDIOT said it was not cool to show a double or look alike of John Lennon and Yoko. Why??? What the hell is the problem with that??? I hope /netflix picks up the show or Amazon. And would like to have seen a few more seasons of not ony this show but Terra Nova.

I don't know if it was a horrible show, but there were definitely some flaws. Personally I loved Bobby Cannavale in Boardwalk Empire but thought he was wrong for this show. And I just about **** myself when I saw what they spent on the first season. Holy god that's a lot of money. And 30 mil was just for the opener. So if it ain't making hay then best to get it off the farm (there's an old white man expression for you). On a side note I don't know why this board has so much hate for GoT. It may not be the best season atm, but it's still better then 99.9% of everything else.

Ladies and gentlemen...Mr.Conway Twitty

I don't think Cannavale was wrong for Vinyl, I think the writing of his character was wrong for the show. They made him out to be a guy who started this business from scratch to the top but can't keep it together for an entire episode. They made him too weak & drug addled, they needed to give him some Michael Corleone cool headedness in business.

Adamgr.... I find you so interesting. I don't even know where to begin. I don't put a ton of stock in your comments. I checked some of your other posts and I see you are into "evil mages"

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0803096/board/thread/256915690?d=256915690#256915690

So people into World of Warcraft can't have any real music taste. I am not saying this show was without flaws. But some of your comments were insane. But now that I see you are probably a 24 yr. old sleeping in your parents basement, I understand your comments more.

That being said, I am your new biggest fan. I can't wait to read more of your posts. So please, humor me, and answer a few questions:

List a few of these flaws that made this show so horrible? ( just the ones that made this show unwatchable )

How old are these "old white men"?

How is Vinyl going to lead to the end of HBO?

What is an Evil Mage?

What are your top 5 shows currently active on TV?

and if you are only going to answer one question for me.... please answer this one... What kind of music do you listen to?

I am sure you will lash out from my reply. That is fine. Lots of internet tough guys out there. I did enjoy this show, but I am not offended by your comments... I can see why this show wouldn't appeal to everyone. I found it better than most of the shows out nowadays. I was hoping for a season 2, but I will not be starting a petition to keep it on. If season 1 cost $100 million, I do agree, that seems a bit steep. But clearly HBO wont be filing chapter 11.

I look forward to your next reply. Rock on Evil Mages.

This show was for people who love rock and it's history. It wasn't for you. And bringing race into it? Go protest something. This show was great.

reply

Perfectly said, bear. I found the show to be well-cast, well-acted, creative, and possessing an energy and vitality seldom found in television. It WAS great.

reply

The show was set before I was born and I tuned in every week. It wasn't perfect but I also like History and def. find the 70's an interesting time, especially in music. You had so many different genres that come into play. Ray Romano and the kid from Doogie Howser (not a kid anymore) were great in their supporting roles. At least give us a movie to wrap the story up...heck, they've invested this much. Why not..

Gutted this has been cancelled. .was great show...Ray Romano was brilliant it as well.

reply

I feel exactly the same about it. The best tv serie from 2016, in my opinion... and cancelled.

reply

Maybe if you guys actually SUBSCRIBED to HBO instead of downloading their shows..

My dog sexually abuses my left leg....all the time.

I liked the show. It needed another year to grow,😩😩

HBO can be so frustrating cancelling great shows like Carnivale & Rome, or cancelling shows with tremendous potential like Vinyl. What will they do when Game of Thrones ends next year?
