That's what I hope. This series needs its own unique theme, but be nice to have the HP theme used subtlely in the movie too
shareWhy wouldn't they? Though it's a not a Harry Potter story, the theme is the one most associated with the magical world by the general public, even those who only know the series through the movies and not the books.

I'm assuming you're referring to "Hedwig's Theme"; and since they used that in "Deathly Hallows Part II" after Hedwig was dead, I'll assume they'll use it here too. It's just too iconic for the series.

Having seen the first 10 minutes of Fantastic Beasts at the Global Event today, I can confirm that the very first thing you hear in the movie is a few seconds of Hedwig's Theme.

shareI haven't seen the first ten minutes of the film but I have read of someone who did that you can hear the theme for the first couple of seconds and then it transforms into it's own theme. Like the track they released not that long ago. The logos will appear in HP style, just with a different title :P
Tbh tho, I could do without the HP theme for the first couple seconds and I hope they drop that with the sequel. Haven't listened to the full score yet, gonna experience that in theater lol
