Nice little movie but... what exactly went down in the ending?(spoilers)

In the end the lead has his first gay crush (the black straight guy) come to his window, and I think he said something about him being dead all along and he was only dreaming about him?

It all went down a little too fast and caught me off guard but could someone elaborate a little about that, when did he die and how, I think he said something about being hit by a train after his girlfriend had the abortion or something, really not sure tho...

You gave yourself a name. I gave mine up.

I was confused too and honestly disappointed as hell by this movie. What I got from that was that it was another premonition that the main character was having. I assumed the guy killed himself shortly after his gf died is what he was saying. I love a happy ending but this was...weird.

That scene was suppose to be a reoccurring dream that Randy had been having for 2 months, since the scene just before, when his sister was found. Within the two months of his sister being found and that night, Todd (I think that was his name) had committed suicide by running his bike under a train. He was so distraught after Leslie (his girlfriend) committed suicide that he killed himself a week later. He was basically coming to say goodbye and that it was time for Randy to let him go and move on with his life. He also filled Randy in on what would happen in the future regarding his family and his relationship with his friends, including Marshall (the white guy). Hope that helps.

You are not the only one who was confused by that scene. I was like are you kidding me? All this time he was ghost? It was so unclear and convoluted.

The sequence made sense for the most part until Todd foretold the future. I didn't see much point for a dream sequence predicting Efrem would become a meth addict, etc.

I really liked this movie but yea the ending was like a WTF? It was sad what happened in the end especially Efrem. It would have been better if he found someone to actually love him. It was heartbreaker that he had an STD but to have him get tattoos and die from crystal meth that was a kick to the head, rather he have became a counselor or done other things with his life. But over all it was a good coming-of-age story.

As a black male, this film got to me. I identify with the main character. I joked to myself that this was my biography, LOL. The ending was deeper than the atlantic. However, I know I have the victory from Jesus so it's all going to work out in the end. Yay!!

What they were trying to do was to parallel the story with the teens with the play that they never got to perform...Romeo and Juliet. Leslie and Todd killed themselves just like Romeo and Juliet.

Again the movie tried to draw the parallels but they didn't do a very good job. There was way too much going on. I thought the main guy acted very well due to knowing a thoughtful, innocent kid just like that.
