5.2 rating?? How is this possible? This is by far one of the worst movies in recorded history. The actors, dialogues, make up and special effects are worse than anything I've ever seen. So why this high rating? It looks like the guys from the studios rated this movie and not actual viewers!

shareBlame "Publicity Companies" they have legit IMDB "packages" where they will bot-rate the movie, make posts about how "wonderful", "amazing" and "talented" the terrible acrots are, and give a 9/10 rated review (almost always from some bullsh!t festival pre-screening that didnt exist, and somehow they think 9/10 is less suspicious for a 1 star movie). Ive reported so many I got tired of it, IMDB obviously is complicit in this crap so its best to use other sites for real reviews (until they get too big and begin doing the same fvcking sh!t
also, fvck imdb and their censoring bleeps
I've stopped using IMDB scores to ascertain the quality of a flick because they've become so damn unreliable. Great smaller, indy films get trashed, while the commercial garbage mysteriously maintains a 6 or higher.
Sadly, I've just started counting how many folks snag a flick and how often it pops back up after take down.
Since a certain giant corporation that owns and controls this website also has a retail component and a media streaming service, it has a huge stake in whether or not people can be convinced to buy or rent just about everything.

It's not 'wrong ratings' the ratings are usually high initially because the creators and friends usually give them 10's for being apart of it (which of course means that even they know their movie sucks so they have to try to manipulate the ratings themselves)... There's only 85 people that have voted on it you need at least 3000 votes to get sort of an idea of the general conscensus of the film.
A shame though cause I saw Edgar Allen Poe and though this might be a good one, not actually seen it so I can't for sure say for sure that it is as bad as you say but the trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kr-WHvKoJeY does not sway me to think otherwise

Wise words from Seth Rogue One concerning IMDb ratings. This has now got over 1,600 votes and 3.9 rating. So the score is settling down to a stable rating even before 3,000 votes have been reached. I must say I liked the setting in this movie.
shareThanks for saving my time. I am sad any movie can attach EAP's name on a film title. I am an EAP fan since my teens (90s). I hope i can see a good adaptation of EAP and HP Lovecraft tales in my lifetime... but i'll skip this one. (EAP's Light-house is not even complete... and boy, it is just pop media titled it "light-house")
