Confused??

********Spoiler alert*******

can someone explain to me the ending?? I have an idea- alba was the antichrist, but why was she obstensibly casting out demons from possessed people??

Is anyone else confused?

If I remember correctly, the cult mentions "our lord Asmodeus", which is not Satan. Asmodeus is "King of Nine Hells" usually predating Christianity. So, end could mean something even more sinister then Satan was coming, in other words, something far worse then Judeo-Christian Armageddon.

as for her casting out demons, your guess is good as mine. It has something to do with cult members being purposely possessed by blonde girl (the heretic), but why was never really explained.... or I just missed it, because honestly, movie kinda bored me and by the end I wasn't paying much attention.

Good idea, terrible execution, too much unnecessary subplots that didn't add too much. Little exposition also wouldn't hurt instead of giving last two min summary of "hey you've been watching this and that for the last 90 minutes".

I thought she was casting out "good demons" or angels? Then again, I could be wrong. This was a great idea for a film but could have been executed much better.

No, they were definitively demons not angels or "good" demons.

She was freeing the demons; releasing them. It seemed they were in people to torment them, but unable to leave.
So Alba freed them, we see them at the hospital with them at the end.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Thanks for the explanation.

I guess I can try to watch the movie again, but I found it terribly confusing. Like who is Alba's actual mother? Why would Ona's sister confront Jazz, etc.

Just not sure who was who, then again, Spanish movie subtitles are a little harder for me to follow than say J-horror stuff.

Two facts.

1. Ona says at the end Eloy fornicated with his daughter.
2. Jazz says when Diana visits his house:

Luna would be alive and taking care of her daughter with Eloy

So I assume Luna (the woman in the swimming center) was Eloy's daughter so Alba's actual mother.

Diana confronts Jazz because she didn't understand why Luna had to die.
I think she believed Luna was still for the cause or something.

The demons got bound to their houses by Ona during her time in the hospital when she's playing (didn't know a better word for it) with her tarot cards to prevent 'Resurrection day'.
