very serious until......... **spoiler**

the last husband was holding the "manikin" like wife..

when he says:
"he was too young to get details right, it mad me angry, I was really mad at him for that"

was by far one of the most funniest moments in any movie of this type..
I laughed for 10 minutes over that and still laugh 2 hrs after viewing the film as I write this..

this moment aside, first 2 acts were a great start and build for a film but the 3rd act was a complete disappointment and a cop-out! a repressed memory of his mother was the cause of his creepy projection, a toy was the "cure" and no old questions answered or new questions asked.. a better ending, maybe they should've made it that everyone that was "taken" actually get diagnosed with cancer or already passed from cancer and are "healthy" projections that only the loved ones can see.. but what do I know, not enough or yall would be on a forum somewhere talking about how you could've made my story/film better!

Something tells me you're one of those people who no one wants to be in a movie theater with.

The Titanic sinks, Bruce Willis is a ghost, and Rosebud is a sled

I didn't like the movie that much...but that scene in particular was very sad and creepy. Imaging loosing someone that you really love and you got the opportunity to hug them again, but what come back is not the person you love but a bad imitation. It's scary and hearth breaking at the same time.

The movie could have been a lot better if the director didn't put so many cliché, plus the mother reactions were completely unrealistic.

I agree, the first two acts were great. where the film lost me, was when the main character didn't show any emotional reactions to seeing her husband being taken by a slenderman/alien like creature. instead of being in shock, crying, having a mental breakdown, etc. she just carries on as if nothing had happened. also how she didn't show any fear during the climax of the movie, and just kept on going, knowing exactly how to overcome any obstacle in her way.

Wait wait wait so you actually want the characters in the movie to be dumb? Everything she did was rational and logical. Oh noes her husband got eaten by a monster. WHoop dee doo better tell that to everyone and get locked up. I'm only saying this because what person would go into r3tard mode and grieve for the death of their loved one by a monster from a dream.. after theyve seen it all i mean.

Rarely do i see horror/psychological flicks this well made and to top it off the characters werent 100% r3tard3d. Where was i going with this? Well she did exactly what any half competent person would do... Granted this is all obvious to us but im sure average joe would figure it out. The only part of the movie that ticked me off was her ex machina nurse job. Other than that its perfect. Never laughed so much during a psychological horror... mainly because the plot was obvious. Except for the monster origins. Its especially horrifying if "canker" has gotten someone close to you.
