Natalie isn't Suspicious?

So before being adopted for the 3rd time, 75% of all the people who have adopted Cody disappear without a trace. And when another foster parent disappears, the case worker Natalie blames the surviving foster mother Jessie and contacts child protective services. I would be furious at Natalie to find out that of the four previous foster parents only one has survived, and he’s now locked up in a psych ward. Cody has a fatality rate that makes cancer seem like the common cold in comparison, and Natalie is pawning off this plague on poor unsuspecting parents without any concern or even follow ups? I am sorry, but this many people all dispersing in North America in the 21st century without a trace is highly suspicious, and all of them having one very obvious connection would raise red flags.

I was going to say the exact same thing, you saved me some typing, lol. That part made zero sense! Not only the foster parents but the kid in school who just had an altercation with Cody the same day he vanished. Still enjoyed it but pretty unbelievable that all the missing foster parents didn't point right to Cody.

IKR? This film had some good parts but it was pretty dumb.

I thought the same after originally thinking she might be his creepy mother or something. But I was wrong about that obviously.

I took it that Natalie knew that there was something strange about Cody but if she a knowledged it; it would have made her sound crazy.

It's far more acceptable to cite domestic abuse and neglect as causes for people going missing rather than a kids depressive malevolent manifestations of his mother when he dreams (or whatever your interpretation was).

However, I do agree with the above users that, it would be highly suspicious for 75% of the previous foster parents to disappear.

People believe what they want to believe, and we're good at rationalizing what we don't understand. She'd certainly be suspicious about all those folks vanishing, and the fact that the survivors keep babbling about Cody's dreams, but she'd keep telling herself there's a logical explanation... er, right? Yeah, the kid's just had terrible luck with lousy foster parents, that's all. I mean, he's just a nice little boy, it couldn't be anything about him that's causing them all to vanish or go crazy... riiight? And what was that about his dreams? Naaahhh, that's crazy talk. Get out of my office with that foolishness!
