Reminded me of Scanners.

Weak ending but it was still a decent movie. Tom's powers were very reminiscent of some of the known powers from the first Scanners movie. The climax seemed like it was inspired by the prominent powers displayed in the third Scanners movie.

Since he has electronic shrapnel embedded in his brain, one thing comes to my mind: Tom's doctor said he wasn't the type of doctor Tom needed to see. Perhaps a neurologist instead? If this story is ever continued, what if that shrapnel was upgradeable? For example, if the iPhone 3 parts currently in his head were upgradeable to say, an iPhone 7. Tom might be an asset that people learn about and want to use him the same way Ellman did but also to study him to recreate his condition. I wouldn't mind an iBoy 2 as long as it had a stronger, elevated script.

I thought he meant he should see a shrink!

The doctor he "needed to see" was a therapist, as he said to his doctor that "I haven't been the same since".
