Pretty good horror flick.............

I just watched it. It was pretty good, well acted and featured beautiful locations and cinematography. All the actors were great, including the mermaid.

Only negatives, not enough mermaid action and the monster form of the mermaid was kinda lame. Especially, after we already had the awesome monster mermaid, in the Roger Corman remake of She-Creature.

Alex and Yasmine weren't so great but Bob was decent and I actually thought the two lead girls were very good. I've enjoyed Kristina Klebe in everything I've seen her in so far.

Aside from Franco Nero, who barely gets any screen time, and Bob, everyone was exquisitely terrible. It didn't help that the plot was extremely dull, the killer was a completely unthreatening 90 year old man, and the dialogue was atrocious.

Sure, the setting was beautiful. It lends itself to some nice shots. But a handful of decent cinematographic moments is not enough to save a bad movie. I'm a fan of plenty of B horror, but this one just had entirely too few genuinely entertaining moments. A film doesn't have to be a triple A blockbuster to be entertaining, but whoever made this one clearly didn't take enough lessons from the genre to be anything but a drop in the ocean of bad, pointless low budget horror.

I thought it was solid.
