Funny, entertaining series

I had not heard of Ghost Ghirls before their episode on the Nerdist Writer's Panel podcast last week. WOW - glad I did. This show is hilarious!

The two leads, Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci, also do much of the writing and it shows as their dialog and humor just flows naturally, with fantastic comedic chemistry. The characters of the Ghirls are really, really dumb and a bit rude, but lovable in a strange way, and usually do their job of ghost hunting surprisingly well. Also involved with the writing and creation of the series is "Drunk History's" Jeremy Konner.

They pack a LOT of plot and dialog into each 10+ min. episode, so sometimes they seem a bit cramped for time. But given the super low budget and insanely short time they had to do these (about one day of filming per episode) they did a really good job on the production. It's FAR above the usual production values for a web series.

Also, probably thanks to Jack Black's presence as a producer, there are a-list guest stars in high abundance, like Bob Odenkirk, Val Kilmer, Colin Hanks, Lorenzo Lamas, Kate Miccucci, Molly Shannon, Dave Ghrol, Jack Black himself, and many others.

Luckily you can binge-watch the entire first season in a couple of hours since they are so short (like I did!) but then comes the inevitable feeling of frustration: now we have to wait until they can produce more of them!

You can find Ghost Ghirls on Yahoo at screen.yahoo.com/ghost-ghirls/

Highly, highly recommended.

Like Patrick, I hadn't heard of Ghost Ghirls before and came across it by accident. And what a happy accident it was!

Great writing, funny dialogue, interesting stories, and above all, a very-well executed series given the budgetary constraints. Granted, Jack Black's involvement probably doesn't hurt, but frankly I think even without the "guest stars", it would still be a hit thanks to outrageously dumb and outrageously funny performances by Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci.

Very funny stuff. If you've got 20/30 minutes to spare, catch a few eps on Yahoo. You won't regret it!
