Why didn't Old Nick ever saw or interacted with the boy?

It seems strange to me. He was in charge! It is said that Ma didn't allowed him to do so, but how can that be true when she was not in charge? She was a captive, and Old Nick could do anything he wanted.

Its hard to imagine that Old Nick wasn't even curious enough, even once, to interact with his son? It is shown in the movie, it seems, that the boy never saw or met with Old Nick, I find it very absurd.

Its something she insisted on in exchange for her good behaviour. Nicks lack of real interest in Jack simply shows he didn't care, and that Jack was a means to an end for Nick( Joys good behaviour)

You find it difficult to believe that a rapist, kidnapper and woman beater would have no interest in meeting his kid? Average fathers walk out on their kid everyday but this you cannot believe.

reply

Yes, I do. Old Nick was the type to control everything and he would see turning the kid against her as another tool to use. He was a control freak, and the fact that he never interacted is exactly what led to his downfall.

I read on a thread,, that Joy gave birth before, and the child died. So when Jack was born she insisted Nick not interact, in exchange for her good behavior.

Jack actually doesn't exist. He is only an imagination. Also, the whole movie didn't actually happen.

Technically, actionkamen, such a scenario COULD occur.
