Why was Haylie Duff filmed as if she was pregnant ?

In a lot of the shots Haylie Duff is holding a coat, or a box or something else in front of her waist. Baggy cardigans also feature heavily. That is when they are not shooting her from the waist up.

This is how they do things in a soap or serial drama, where the actress is heavily pregnant but the character isn't.

According to Wikipedia she did have a child with her husband recently, but that was not until 2015 so a good 1-2 years after this was shot.

Anyone have any clues ??
