So much incest in the plot

The zinger, or the drama of this show revolves around incest….? Who are these writers? When these writers pitched the story to MTV producers, did they really start off with "so the drama will be about the fact that the two leads are related." It's like they're writing fan fiction for Lea and Luke from Star Wars or something

The whole "we're siblings," "but only half siblings," "i still have feelings for my half brother/sister," "oh wait your father isn't your bio one so i still have feelings for you let's bang"

Harper said that Lucy and Ian were "star crossed lovers" after she found out they were siblings. GROSS.

Just because we found out they're not blood related doesn't make it okay that they went from thinking of each other as siblings to having sex the next minute.

I don't know, I REALLY like all the Disneyland-like references, and the fact that Lucy is levelheaded whereas her mom is living a fairy tale. But this plot device is too weird and uncomfortable. Plot devices such as infidelity, love triangles, and coming of age would be enough to carry this show throughout the season.
