A better singer would have helped

This is a lousy movie, partly because it's so unbelievable in so many ways. And one of those ways is, here's this jaded egotist risking his life because the woman he heard sing has such a spectacular voice the world has to hear it... and her voice ain't that great. I mean, she's a good singer, pleasant to listen to, did a nice job. But great? Not even close. They should have gotten k.d. lang or somebody like that to do the singing, if they wanted the plot to be halfway believable. Anybody else feel that way?

A pretty voice but not one worth the insane risks they took. If it was made so it wasn't the voice motivating him and the audience but the girl's right to compete that would've been a worthy watch. She did that squealy voice cracking thing that B Spears relies on so heavily whenever she wants to stress a word (EVERY OTHER word) it drives me nuts! There are so many great ways to manipulate your voice and it seems young girls just squeal/voice crack relentlessly!

*I'm 28, so not an old timer, I've just been hearing that squeal thing since I was a teenager. Its awful!
