I feel like Codi was the true hero of this movie

Like him or not, he had a pretty sweet set-up. Got to live rent-free in a mansion, indulge a dumb hobby, bang a hot older lady and her hotter daughter for however many months or years the thing lasted. And then he was no worse-off at the other end than he was before. He could still get his job back at The Wine Cellar. He'll be alright, and he'll have a great story to tell. Props, Codi.

Pretty sure your post is a joke, it has to be. But if not, really? That's the brother you liked? The one who takes sexy pics of his daughter and displayed them in his private studio? The one who brought up a painful memory of a dead loved one for his brother on purpose? The one who rips into his other step kid for being over weight? The one who is not really good at anything and has no job? The one who married into a bunch of money but doesn't pay for the mothers elder care, putting it on the less wealthy bro/sis? Etc etc.

Right, the winner.
